Description of work
A large paved area for the garden was required by the client. They had just moved into the property and wanted to simplify the garden and reduce the boarder space.
Design for large paved area
The main garden was cleared of all the shrubs and plants; the raised beds were dismantled as well as the existing paving; the shrubs at the rear of the garden were left as they gave screening to this area of the garden. The removal of the lawn allowed us a blank canvas to begin our transformation.
The client wanted a large paved area than the original and we agreed that a new footway to the garage door would be a useful addition. A frame was created to clearly mark the area upon which we would lay the Indian Sandstone paving which was finished with a mortar pointing. It was agreed that we would need to incorporate steps so that access could be gained to the parking area in front of the garage. Finally we used forticrete sheartsone walling to retain the walls and steps.
The clients were satisfied that they had achieved a soft look in their garden whilst also reducing the level of maintenance necessary.
